"bliss" considers texture, color, composition, and decomposition. Made with entirely biodegradable materials, bliss will eventually return to the earth. These quilts are meant to complement the lush surrounding forest and represent the colors that plants share with us. Most of the naturally-dyed cotton fabric was hand-dyed and the pinks, purples, and yellows come from madder, weld, cochineal, and sappanwood. The creation of this piece relied heavily on improvisational quilting techniques and it seeks to create a bridge between landscape and fiber.Made for Spring 2026 Land-Art Residency @ The Verdancy Project.
